Hi Christina,
Alexander (Mc)Mullin was a private in the 55th Infantry Pennsylvania Volunteers. He joined in Bedford, PA and was working as a farmer in Chester County at the time. His pension application states that he was wounded in the leg at a skirmish around Petersburg, VA in August of 1864. He was discharged in 1865. He kept his leg but had serious complications for years afterward (according to his pension application). He was living in Philadelphia in 1874, when he died from a fall from a train. He was a brakeman. I was lucky enough to find an old article in the Philadelphia Inquirer detailing the accident.
