 Membership Criteria Clan Mac Maolain Leinster:

Membership application:

Membership in Clan Mac Maoláin is open to any individual, bearing a Clan authenticated variant surname of Mullen/McMullen, and descended from an ancestor of native Irish origin associated with the geographic lore of Mac Mic Maolain (Mac Mullen) of Leinster.

To join Clan Mac Maoláin, use the contact email that was provided above, and as a minimum identify for our clan registrar: where your Irish ancestors were originally located in Ireland, when they emigrated if that was the case, and where they are located today.

Review of an application for membership will be conducted by the McMullen Clan Council.

Applicants approved will be then added to our EMAIL membership list. Approved membership automatically includes a members spouse and dependent family and requires listing their email addresses to receive clan material.

There are no fees for membership, and the main method of Clan communication is in the form of newsletters and group emails. These are produced when information thought to be of interest to a wider group of Mac Maolain members is circulated.

Associate membership is available on application to those who may have an interest in the history or genealogy of the Mac Maoláin Clan of Leinster (e.g a maternal linked family) and wish to be included in our newsletter circulation.

Occasionally the Clan may create events to generate income. The purchase of any Clan offered specific item is intended to help us generate small amounts of income needed to offset website and domain registration, clans of Ireland registration or clan event expenses.

The clan registrar "will delete" and block from the membership list, any person posting political or religious diatribe, and/or contentious comments considered by the registrar as incompatible with an objective of being:

1. a sanctioned member of “Finte na hEireann” (Clans of Ireland) which is based in the Republic of Ireland;

2. a descendant of “Native Irish families” formerly extant in either the Republic of or Northern Ireland; and

3. sincerely committed to a form of “posted comments” which celebrate our Irish ethnicity.
